The project concerns the extension of a residential house in Cund, Mureș County. It forms part of a broader long-term vision developed by the clients, who have acquired two adjacent plots and initiated a gradual process of constructing several architectural interventions, carefully considering the logic of the rural setting and its spatial sequence from the street toward the garden.

The existing house, positioned along the street frontage, is partially extended, while a degraded portion of the original second structure is removed and replaced with a new volume accommodating the main living spaces and bedrooms. This new addition is conceived as a contemporary insertion that completes the ensemble while maintaining a dialogue with the existing rural fabric. The living areas are connected to the kitchen through a proposed orangery, which acts as an intermediate space between interior and garden, reinforcing the gradual transition from the built environment to the landscape.

The project follows a telescopic development logic, with built volumes gradually decreasing in scale/presence from the street toward the rear of the plot. The main house defines the public frontage, while secondary volumes step back in height and importance, shaping a clear spatial hierarchy. This sequence reflects traditional rural patterns and supports the gradual transition from public to intimate space.
