Transforming a 16th century noble house into a home is not an easy feat. Located in Vălenii de Mureși, the building resides in the protection area of the village’s Reformed Church. Its walls are made of river stone, with brick insertions, reaching 1.60 meters in thickness.
The old noble house was once part of a larger residential ensemble, with a few ruined walls serving as markers of the past. In the second half of the 20th century the building received several transformations, such as the construction of a garage annex.
The main subject of the intervention was to bring the property to present-day standards, so as to transform the architectural object into a comfortable home, while in the same time paying respect to the original features of the edifice.
